What I mean when I say envisioning the new creative. I’ve been a fan of Gaga since Just Dance, and I really love her work. I’ve been an avid listener, but it’s only now that I’m really digging what she’s doing. If you haven’t read the article, read it now before you read this.
I don’t even know where to start. I find it so hard to describe. It’s not exactly what Lady Gaga sings about, it’s how she sings it. Her work ethic and what drives her is really what inspires me. The vision of her creative is something that I strive to achieve. It’s not just about seeing it, it’s about envisioning it. For her to be able to write a song that speaks her mind “in ten f*cking minutes” is something that’s really an awe even just to read about, even more to see it happen. To read about her creative process, how she does what she does; it’s indescribable. Her peers and mentors have described her as “very rare” — I agree.
Although my interests don’t really lie in music, what I’ve read translates to what I want to do in fashion. What she does is she markets her creative in a sellable medium: pop. The image isn’t the run-of-the-mill manufactured Britney pop, it’s a sound that’s been running in her head for years. Just like Terno Recording’s slogan “changing you pop sensibility”, Gaga’s music is taking the scene and making it not just better (in my opinion), but edgier. There have been prolific artists before her, but there’s just something that’s different. Call it passé, but still. You can’t deny it. I’m not saying that Gaga’s music is the best and it’s all you need to listen to, no. It’s the creative behind it that’s something you at least have to look at and observe.
I guess you can call her my creative idol. Not for her music, not for her look, but for her creative. The thought process, behind the scenes. I don’t know if I’ve articulated what I mean enough, I’ve always had trouble saying what I mean. But, if you get it, you’ll know what I mean. Envision the new creative.
