Marry The Night: Prelude Pathétique / Lady Gaga

the importance of history. what makes a person’s artistry is what they’ve been through, or at least big part of it. it’s the thing that motivates, pushes one’s medium forward. it’s what differentiates an artist’s painting, music, dance, fashion or whatnot from what is simply just a picture, song, movement, or clothing. it’s the thing that makes it unique; the thing that makes the maker attached to the product. the artist’s history, what he or she pulls from is what separates the work from something manufactured — something i learned when i was researching about mcqueen for my senior project. the idea, along with how it is translated onto the medium, is also what differentiates the master from the craftsman. how well you tell your story; the fluidity of your synthesis. all this i strive for. long way to go.
